While at work on 7/23/25, Nick was pinned by a semi-truck and trapped for four hours before being found and freed by emergency crews. He was life-flighted to the hospital and has since undergone extensive medical treatment to keep him alive. He is now breathing on his own, but is still in critical condition with multiple injuries. He will have a long and difficult road to recovery.

This accident happened with the worst of timing; Aly and Nick are expecting their third child -- due in just three weeks. They are now facing an unknown recovery time for Nick on top of Aly needing recovery from the upcoming C-section. What should be a time of joy and preparation has instead become a time of uncertainty, fear, and hardship.

This traumatic incident has turned their world upside down, physically, emotionally, and financially. The full extent of injuries is still unknown, as is his ability to recover and return to work. As they face potential procedures, extensive rehabilitation, and time away from work, we're asking for help in easing some of the burdens. Funds raised will go directly toward medical expenses, recovery support, and essential living costs as they welcome a new baby during this overwhelming time.

Anyone who knows Aly and Nick knows how that they love their friends and family with their full hearts and have unmatched loyalty and strength for their loved ones.

Aly has been my best friend for the better part of two decades; as a teammate, classmate, road-trip partner, long-distance friend, and now godmother to her beautiful firstborn and lifelong found-sisters.
