Support Nicholas after brain bleed from accident in Thailand
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Monty. I am Thai Christian and a wife to my loving husband Nicholas. We live in Bournemouth, UK
On the 26th February 2025, we travelled to Thailand with our 11 months old son ‘Israel’ for a family visit. The day after we arrived Nicholas had a traumatic accident. He has fallen and banged his head at the pool side and suddenly gone unconscious with multiple seizures that keep coming non stop.
An emergency paramedic team came and did their best to get Nicholas to the nearest hospital just in time. He was rushed to the Emergency Room and had a CT scan. The result showed a life threatening brain bleed. The doctor had prepared me for the worst situation that he might not make it through.
Nicholas got admitted in the ICU with life support machines. The neurosurgeon decided to monitor him for 24 hours and at the ready to perform the brain surgery on him if things got worse.
During those critical hours we asked everyone possible to pray that he will survive. Back in year 2000 Nicholas had a history of brain surgery twice because of a brain tumour. His skull hasn’t been fully closed which caused more brain damage from the fall.
We believed God’s mighty hand is over Nicholas’ life. His condition improved miraculously. He woke up the next day with full memory even though he can’t speak and can’t move the right side of his body, the bleeding has stopped and the doctor confirmed that he didn’t need any surgery.
Nicholas spent 3 days in the ICU; a total of 9 days in the hospital and has been in a rehabilitation center for over one month now. The doctor estimated 2 more months of physiotherapy (until end of May) before he can be well enough to fly back home to England.
He has been working very hard on his physiotherapy everyday with our little boy who is always by his side to cheer him on.
He is now able to move and raise his right arm and right leg. He can walk using the walker and managed to have a shower and go to toilet using the commode. He can eat by himself and get up to sit on a chair to enjoy some reading.
It is still a long way for us as we are looking into the next 2 months. I am here to raise financial support for my husband towards all of his medical bills, rehabilitation and accommodation cost.
In March, we have received some fund through our Thai family, OM Foundation and churches that covered 40% of the total expenses (£13,300). I am overwhelmed by their generosity and I’d like to thank the UK embassy who advised us to use this site to raise the rest of the funds that we need which is £7800
I am deeply grateful and thankful for all of you that have stepped in and will be joining in to help us in this challenging and difficult time through your prayers, your encouragement and your giving. It means the world to us.
I will be updating about Nicholas’ progress using this site. I’d like to kindly ask you to help sharing this page with your family and friends please.
We love you,
May the Lord bless you abundantly
