Support New Origin Staff After Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
My name is Caleb Klein, I was the taproom manager at what was once New Origin Brewing. As many of you know, our little brewery on the Swannanoa in Asheville is no more, taken by catastrophic flooding as a result of historic rainfall caused by Hurricane Helene. Our staff is now unemployed and with the future of the brewery totally up in the air, we have found ourselves rudderless and without anywhere to land. I’m all too aware that our story isn’t exactly unique right now. Our neighbors and families and friends have all experienced some level of uncertainty due to Helene. The food and beverage industry in Asheville is in shambles, our friends in the RAD are devastated. Asheville has seen better days. The next few months are going to be so difficult and critical for our beautiful city. My hope is that those of you that loved New Origin for not only its beer, but also the environment our staff helped cultivate, will lend us some support during this disaster.
Alec, Marwan, Chris and I all hope to see you across the bar again in the future. It was a privilege and a pleasure to serve you some of the best beer in WNC and we cannot thank you enough for coming to visit us at New Origin before the flood.
As a disclaimer, this particular fund is totally independent of the fund for the brewery itself. This is specifically for the staff. Anything donated will go directly to the staff of New Origin Brewing to help them with living expenses, healthcare, childcare, groceries, etc. If you haven’t, please consider donating to the brewery fund. Dan and Brian and New Origin also need all the help they can get.
Remember, Asheville and WNC as a whole, is still one of the greatest places on Earth. Thanks for considering helping out our staff!
