Hello. My name is Christina. I volunteer with a local animal rescue called New Mexico Labor of Love Project. It is considered a non-profit 501c(3). Everyone who is involved with this non-profit are all volunteers. My family focuses on the transportation needs of the local shelter dogs. We have transported dogs around the local area and further, including Oklahoma, Wyoming, and Montana. The rescue has saved over 500 dogs since it began in 2018. Honestly, I believe it has been much more since I know I have transported around 200 dogs in the past year and a half.
My husband and I bought a van to use specifically for the animal rescue for transportation purposes. During our latest transport, the engine blew in the van; a rod went through the engine block. We had to scramble to find another last-minute vehicle to complete the transport to Montana to save 18 dogs.
We really need to fix the van so we can continue to save local shelter dogs and to find them their forever homes. I am hoping that we can get enough to replace the engine. Please help us and our local rescue!
