About Us
We are the New Dragons, the dragon boat team representing New College at the University of Toronto. We are a community of student-athletes bound by a shared purpose: to chase excellence, support one another, and compete with heart. In 2025, we proudly qualified for the 2026 Club Crew World Championships (CCWC) in Taiwan—our next dream is to bring home the championship and leave everything we have on the water
Our slogan—Honour. Focus. Engage.—is more than just words. It’s how we train, how we race, and how we show up for each other. We honour the team with our commitment. We focus with discipline through every stroke. And we engage—fully, passionately—with our teammates, our growth, and our goals.
In 2024, we became the fastest university dragon boat team in North America, earning the title of 24U Canadian-American Club Champions. At the Club Crew World Championships in Italy, we brought home six gold medals, along with two silvers and a bronze. But more than the medals, it’s the bond we’ve built and the barriers we’ve broken that define who we are.
This year, we aim to qualify for CCWC 2026 by winning at Canadian Nationals—and we need your help to get there.

- Paddle Training: Dragon boat rental, boat storage, Sunnyside membership, and indoor training space
