Support Nevan's Medical Journey
Donation protected
My name is Natasha and I am currently trying to find ways to help my sister and brother in law raise funds to get the services my sweet nephew needs. I would love more than anything to be able to see him walk unassisted again, run, talk and be able to play with his cousins and friends again. I'd even love to see him go back to school!
With your help we can get him the services he needs to help make these things possible! Please read a little about his story and his needs below.
Hello family, friends and supporters! We are urgently seeking your help for Nevan, our son who is battling a challenging illness/disability.
Your contribution can make a difference in getting the answers and care he desperately needs for an illness/disability that came on quickly and unexpectedly. Every donation is greatly appreciated and brings us one step closer to understanding the illness/disability while also getting the necessary treatments he needs.(Treatments are out of state as there isn't treatment available in Arkansas)
Thank you for being a part of Nevan's healing journey.
Listed below will be the suspected dianosis, needs, and a little about Nevan's journey.
Diagnosis Neurologist suspects:
Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)
Financial Needs:
Travel, housing out of state, medical bills (this treatment can cost an upwards of $80,000) and a non shedding service dog to assist with daily activities(this can cost an upwards of $30,000)
A little about Nevans journey:
March of 2022 while on Spring Break out of state he was feeling ill with a stomach ache. This led to an ER visit at a Children's Hospital. In turn he was taken via ambulance to a larger Children's where he underwent emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix. After surgery it was discovered he was unable to walk which we thought was due to weakness from the ruptured appendix and surgery. Upon returning home he was still unable to walk and started Physical Therapy throughout the week.
Fast forward to October 2022 he suffered a Gran Mal seizure that came right before heading to school. Since then he has had seizures off and on that have caused him to lose the ability to do things he was otherwise able to do. Ex: talk, feed himself, walk, see correctly, draw (which he loves and is fantastic at), bathe etc..
We are on Neurologist number 6 as no one else has been able to diagnose him and all testing thus far has not shown anything indicating what this could be, but this Neurologist has done some research and believes it to be FND
The Neurologist has suggested Nevan go to an inpatient facility to get treatment for FND.
It's typically our pleasure to help others, however we are in need of your help now. There are clinical studies / treatments that insurance will not cover so we will have to come out of pocket for treatment, housing in another state, travel and we will also miss work as this has to be done at a facility that is located several states from home.
Nevan is also in need of a non shedding service dog as well to help assist with daily activities. Our family will be separated off and on for a while as someone needs to be with Nevan at all times and his father will be needed at the base where he works in our home state.
We first ask you to pray! Second, give if you can! Third, even if you arent able to help please share this with your family and friends as every penny helps and again is greatly appreciated!
Your generosity can provide the vital medical assistance required to navigate this journey towards healing.
Together, let's be the beacon of hope that lights up Nevan's path to recovery.
Thank you for joining hands in making a profound difference in our sweet boys life."
