Hi, my name is Sharareh Drury. I am based in California, and I created this GoFundMe for my friend Nermeen Ziyad Abo Mostafa, a 22-year-old Palestinian medical student living in Gaza.
Below is a message from Nermeen:
Hello, My name is Nermeen. I first made this GoFundMe to raise funds to support my ability to complete my medical studies abroad, pay university fees, and help my family with expenses as this is our only income.
On Sunday May 18 2025, my entire family and I were displaced from our home after continuous bombing that lasted for three days. We lost 10 of our neighbors. We have lost our home. This devastated my father, who has spent much of his life working very hard to provide us this home. To this day, we are still living in a tent, and have had to move almost 15 times.
Up to this point, I have been trying to raise funds to help with my university fees. However, I have had to use much of my campaign funds to support my family during this war — as of now that has become the priority. I need donations desperately to continue to raise money for both my medical education but most immediately support my family as well. My goal is to raise $60,000 overall to achieve the above goals:
• $15,000 - fees for my studies over the next three years
• $8,000 - cost for my traveling expenses
• $20,000 - cost for rebuild the distruction of my home when we back to our area
• All other donations I receive will go towards supporting my family.
I will share more about me below and how you can follow my story: I volunteered at the European Gaza Hospital, where I have acquired many skills by working in the field and helping doctors.
