If you know Nerissa, as so many of us do, you know she’s wild, free, and unapologetically herself. She’s the one who lights up the room, brings the laughter, and somehow gathers together people from all walks of life: the sports moms, the beauty industry crew, the restaurant family, the farmers, the mud hole kids. She leaves no one behind.
Nerissa has a gift for connection. It’s safe to say that all the very different people she brings
together would agree on this: she makes everyone feel seen. She’s the little spark every
soul needs.
She shows up for everyone, in the way they need, every time. She loves without boundaries and supports without conditions. With Nerissa, there’s no judgment, no expectations- just love,
kindness, and fierce loyalty. She just knows when someone needs a laugh, a hug, or a little
light when times get dark.
Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.
Nerissa has recently been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and is facing many uncertainties.
What is clear right now is that she’ll be undergoing surgery, followed by an aggressive treatment plan. This means time away from work and extra challenges as she focuses on healing and being present for her two daughters, one of whom is just starting her freshman year of college. And only going into her sophomore year for High school.
We’ll soon be announcing a fundraising event planned for October but she needs us now. So, in the meantime, we’re launching a GoFundMe to help cover medical expenses, caregiving needs, and the financial burden of stepping back from work.
In addition to being our favorite hairdresser and bartender, our loyal customer, our best friend,
and our biggest cheerleader, she’s also a daughter, a sister, and most importantly, a mother.
Let’s reciprocate the love and grace she’s shown so many, and lift up the person who’s
always lifted us.
If you’re able, please consider donating. If you can’t give financially, we know Nerissa would
love a card, a message, a prayer, or let’s be honest, an antipasto and a crab leg is probably her
true love language. In all seriousness, anything to remind her how loved and supported she is
through this difficult journey would be appreciated.
