Support Nepali children during pandemic

Tax deductible
Many years ago I met Dr CM Yogi, the Nepali leader of a group of schools dedicated to transformative values-based education. Since then I have seen his long-persevering efforts to create hope and learning in a region plagued by poverty and political strife. In 2018 Bhola Nath Yogi, the principal of one of these schools visited my school Tru in Palo Alto, and students exchanged letters with Nepali children. Now as the coronavirus runs rampant across the world, they need our help.

Dr Yogi writes:

"As of 9/8/2020, confirmed cases of coronavirus in Nepal are 47,236 and death cases around 300+. The pandemic has caused all kinds of social, financial, industrial, educational structures to be negatively affected or even destroyed.

"Many so-called directors are playing their roles, but no one knows the greatest mystic play, the divine Leela, of the Supreme Director of directors? So why more panic? Why only rejection? Why not try to revise our lives and start a new journey; a new approach for our world and our nature? Why not listen to our mother earth quietly? What she is saying to us actually?"

The Peace Service Center is the US representative of a Nepali-based network of schools and social organizations led by Dr Chintamani Yogi.

With a lack of social safety nets, political will, and health services, the challenge in Nepal is steep. With financial support, Peace Service Center will be able to accomplish a variety of goals:

- sharing food with deprived women and children through Shanti Sewa Ashram
- building houses in Saptari area (affected by flooding)
- online programs to raise hopefulness, awareness, motivation classes constantly on national, international level
- celebration of Nepali festivals with more practical guidance and awareness
- special online sessions for USA-born Nepali childrenfor raising awareness and responsibility
- various health awareness programs (yoga, ayurveda, traditional healing system)
- encouraging orphan children of CPH in Dang to grow vegetables, grains to sustain themselves as pandemic progresses
- sustaining HVP schools, Children's Peace Home, Shanti Sewa Ashram, Gurukul, Women's Centers after five-month closure

"May there be life for all! Namaste! Smile!"
