Dear Friends and Community,

The devastating floods in Nepal have left many families facing unimaginable loss, uncertainty, and hardship. Behind the numbers are real people, parents, children, and families whose lives changed suddenly and drastically.

My name is Geeta Dharmadhikari and I am launching this fundraiser to provide direct support to five specific families connected to the Kailash pilgrimage travel community who have been affected by this tragedy.  This fundraiser is for the families of Samir Gurung, Jit Gurung, Pure Gurung, Bikas Basnet, and Kalsung. 

These individuals helped many people during their travels and were at Gyirong border when the flood hit and are still missing after several weeks. Except for Jit, each of them has young children between the ages of 1 and 13. Rather than contributing to a general relief fund, the goal is to deliver direct financial assistance to these families for immediate necessities such as food, shelter, clothing, and medical care.

How the funds will be handled and transparency

I will collect the funds via GoFundMe in the US and coordinate transfers directly to the families based on their specific needs. Full records of all received funds and distributions will be kept, and clear updates will be shared while respecting the families' privacy. All proceeds, after standard platform processing and transfer fees, will go directly to support them. 

These donations are simply pass-through, and no incentives, products, or services are being offered for the collection and distribution of these funds. Please donate any amount you can and share this fundraiser with your friends, family, and network. 

Together, this community can ease their immediate burden and support them in their hour of dire need.
