Many people in our community know and love my grandma, Neona. She has spent years serving Canby with a smile at Canby Pub & Grill (now Backstop), Pappy’s Greasy Spoon, and Burger Hut—and if you were ever lucky enough to be one of her tables, you know she treated everyone like family. Even now, she continues working hard doing DoorDash, always going above and beyond for others.

On Thursday, 1/8, our family received a call that my grandmother had been seriously injured DoorDashing at a customers property. Unfortunate conditions caused her to fall, resulting in a broken shoulder.

She was taken to Silverton Hospital, where she received initial treatment. Unfortunately, this injury means she will be out of work for 6–8 weeks, and possibly longer depending on the outcome of her upcoming appointment with an orthopedic surgeon on Wednesday the 21st, where they will determine if surgery is needed.

Neona is someone who has spent her life helping others, and now she needs a little help herself. While we wait for insurance coverage to be sorted out, medical bills and everyday expenses are already adding up—on top of the stress of being unable to work.
