Our sweet girl Nena has unfortunately relapsed with lymphoma after previously being in remission. The news was heartbreaking, especially because she still feels good, is happy, and doesn’t look sick — which makes this even harder to process.
After discussing options with her oncology team, I have decided to give her one last fight. I hope to move forward with Treatment Option #2 (CCNU + L-asparaginase / Elspar). This protocol is commonly used for dogs whose cancer has returned and is generally well tolerated, with the goal of giving Nena more good quality time.
The estimated cost for this treatment is about $5,300, which includes chemotherapy, monitoring, bloodwork, and supportive care. As much as we wish love alone could pay for it, the financial burden is heavy, and I can’t do this alone. There is so much going on in the world and specially in Minnesota that I know it’s hard and I am so thankful for all that have reached out and given me support. ❤️
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading, supporting, and loving Nena with us.
With gratitude,
Tabata & Nena
