Hello, my name is Olivia, and I’m currently fostering a sweet, emaciated pup named Nemo. He’s 4 years old he came to me at just 45.8 lbs

Nemo’s story is one of survival. He was one of 54 dogs rescued from a severe cruelty case, arriving emaciated and broken—just 45 pounds when he should have been close to 70. With love, care, and proper nutrition, Nemo has finally reached a healthy weight and for the first time in years, he is learning what it feels like to be safe.

But now that he’s stronger, the hidden pain from his past has become impossible to ignore. The trauma Nemo endured left lasting damage to his legs and arms. Old fractures that never healed properly now cause him pain every day. He struggles to move the way a happy dog should—sometimes limping, sometimes freezing in place, sometimes just too sore to enjoy the life he’s fought so hard for.

His veterinarian in Holly Springs believes Nemo is living with chronic discomfort that may be caused by osteoarthritis, hip dysplasia, or unhealed injuries from his past. To truly understand what’s wrong and how to help him, Nemo urgently needs 6–8 full orthopedic X-rays, essentially covering his whole body. These images will give us the answers we need to finally ease his suffering.
