Help Nel Receive A Gender Affirming Surgery

Hi everyone whether you know me personally or not let me reintroduce myself.

My name is Nel Muñoz Peralta I am an Afro-Colombian Nonbinary Trans-femme filmmaker, rapper, cook. I am about to turn 30 in 13 days which is a wild thing to think about truly there were some times in which I would never dream making it this far yet here I am.

I have been out as trans for about 3 years and in that time my life has many ups and downs, mostly ups but definitely some downs mixed in. I broke up with my adopted family completely cutting ties with them, have dealt again again with the trials of addiction, discovered a community that makes me feel like a kid, and finding friends that make me feel like I am just enough exactly as I am.

As my journey into my own transness is continuing I have found a want/desire to receive some gender-affirming surgery, especially a surgery called an Orchiectomy which is a surgical procedure in which one or both testicles are removed.

Without going into too much detail this surgery will make me feel more like myself in so many different ways from wearing clothes the way I want, to feeling how I want in my body when I am alone, and just generally having more autonomy with intimate matters in the bedroom.

I have been on Hormone Replacement Therapy for 842 days and counting to the day this has been published.

Being trans has become such a big part of and identity that with this ask support can come in so many different ways whether you choose to merely read this whole statement, you choose to share and spread this fundraiser, if you donate or any of the above imma still feel the love because it comes within so many forms.

I just sent my letter of recommendation for the gender-affirming surgery from my therapist to my Nurse Practitioner who gave me my first consult who will then send it off to my insurance to get the surgery approved under my coverage.

I have no official date as of yet, my Nurse Practitioner said it would be as soon as early September or later October or even earlier than that possibly.

The amount above is for the average costs of the surgery researched by me personally along with getting a general amount from other who have gone though the surgery. I will get my official amount expected after my insurance approves the surgery.
