Support Neiza & Her Family

Neiza is a 9 year old girl from Brockton. She is a fourth grade student at the Gilmore Elementary School in Brockton. She is extremely sweet, kind, well mannered, smart, and artistic young girl!

Unfortunately, Neiza has been hospitalized with respiratory issues and unknown viral infections since November. She is at Children's Hospital in Boston and her progress has been inconsistent over the last few months. The doctors and nurses are unsure of what the cause of her condition is, making it difficult to give her a diagnosis and a prognosis. The wonderful staff at Children's are working every day to figure out what is causing Neiza's symptoms, running tests, and how to help her get better. She has missed most of her 4th grade year, and her classmates and teachers miss her dearly!

Neiza is one of 5 daughters to her mother Helena. Her 4 sisters, all between the ages of 18-23, all live at home in Brockton, along with Neiza's 2 year old nephew Daniel. The girls are working, going to school, and making money to keep the house running, paying the bills, food shopping, and supporting Mom.

Mom is by Neiza's bedside every single day up in Boston. She is unable to work as she is needed to care for Neiza. She is currently sleeping in the room with Neiza and does not like to leave her side. She is a hard-working and caring mother and grandmother, and would do anything for her children. Neiza has an extremely close bond with her mother, and they love to do everything together! They love shopping, and especially love going to Marshall's!

Neiza's father Nelson is currently living in Cape Verde and is working with the Embassy in Cape Verde and the US Embassy to come to the states to be with his daughter and family.

This whole process has been emotionally and financially tolling on Mom and the entire family. Between rent, utilities, groceries, gas, and everyday life costs, the family is in need of support. The costs of medical bills, medication, and medical services will continue to add up even when Neiza is (hopefully) able to come home.
