Neil Simon has spent his life giving to others. As a judo teacher at Shojin Judo, he has inspired countless students with his patience, wisdom, and dedication. Through his work with Team Guts, Neil has opened doors for kids with special needs, helping them discover confidence and strength through martial arts. He has always believed that every person deserves to be seen for their abilities, not their limitations, and he has worked tirelessly to raise expectations for those who are often overlooked.
Now, Neil is facing his own difficult journey. He has a terminal illness and is dependent on oxygen, which makes leaving home nearly impossible. The fatigue and complications from his condition, including diabetes, mean that he needs in-home care and support every day. The costs of this care, along with the need for special diets and medical supplies, are significant and growing. Eventually, Neil will require round-the-clock nursing care to ensure his comfort and dignity.
Neil’s friends and family are coming together to support him, just as he has supported so many others. We are deeply grateful for any help you can offer. If Neil has touched your life, or if you believe in the power of kindness and community, please consider contributing. Your support will help provide the care Neil needs and show him the same compassion he has always shown to others.
