Neil Cameron is my husband, and together we have faced unimaginable challenges over the past five years. When Neil was severely burned over 65% of his body, he spent months in the ICU fighting for his life. The injuries left him with lifelong disabilities, but through strength and determination, he managed to recover and adapt. Three years ago, Neil began having trouble breathing, and after a long search for answers, we learned he had trachea stenosis—severe scarring on his windpipe from the tracheostomy he needed after his burns. The only solution was a rare trachea resection surgery. Unfortunately, complications from the surgery have put Neil back in the ICU, and he now faces another long road to recovery.
Neil has not been able to work since his accident, and I am also unable to work as I care for him full-time. This has placed a tremendous financial burden on us, especially as we face new medical bills and ongoing living expenses. I am 65 and Neil is 76, and I worry every day about how we will manage to pay our bills and keep our home while making sure Neil gets the care he needs.
The funds raised will go directly toward covering our medical deductibles for 2026 and helping with household expenses until I can return to work. Your support will help us stay afloat during this incredibly difficult time and give Neil the best possible quality of life. When Neil was first injured, the GoFundMe community gave us hope and allowed me to stay by his side in the ICU. I am forever grateful for the prayers and help we received. Neil was not expected to survive, but five years later, he is still with us. My goal is to help him enjoy whatever time he has left. Please, please consider helping us again—your support truly makes a difference.
