Neil was diagnosed with ALS in the spring of 2018, shortly after Grant’s second birthday. This sweet family has been juggling, two jobs, raising a preschooler, and battling this terrible disease. Last spring, Neil found out that he was eligible for a clinical trial which was set to begin in August 2019. The trial got pushed back repeatedly until it finally started in Boston in May amidst the Covid crisis. After only three treatments, on May 28, he experienced breathing problems and was admitted to ICU. Emily was able to secure an air ambulance to bring him home to Charlotte and he is now at CMC Pineville in the long term acute care unit for the next month. Of course, family is unable to visit. The goal is to get him off the ventilator for longer periods of time with hopes of getting him home to Emily and Grant. The cost of the air ambulance alone was $13,845. This beautiful family has faced this whole ordeal with such optimism and grace. Please consider making a donation to help make things just a tiny bit easier.
