My name is Nihad Awwad. I am a Palestinian journalist from Gaza. For more than seventeen years, I have been behind the camera, documenting the grief and strength of my people. Through every war, I have documented the grief, loss, and remarkable resilience we experience in our daily lives, hoping that the world will see us, feel our pain, and remember the Palestinians. I have also sat behind a microphone on the radio, spreading joy and hope to my people. But today, I write not as a witness, but as one of the grieving people

When this genocide began, it turned our lives into hell. In that moment, I lost my sister, her husband, and her children. I also lost my brother, my dear friend, and many of my colleagues. All of that was lost in seconds. I have no words to describe this devastation.

اسمي نهاد عواد. أنا صحفي فلسطيني من غزة. لأكثر من سبعة عشر عامًا، كنتُ خلف الكاميرا، أوثّق حزن شعبي وقوته. خلال كل حرب، وثّقتُ الحزن والفقد والصمود الملحوظ الذي نختبره في حياتنا اليومية، آملًا أن يرانا العالم، ويشعر بألمنا، ويتذكر الفلسطينيين. كما جلستُ خلف الميكروفون في الراديو، أنشر الفرح والأمل لشعبي. لكنني اليوم، لا أكتب كشاهد، بل كواحد من أبناء الشعب المكلوم.

عندما بدأت هذه الإبادة الجماعية، حوّلت حياتنا إلى جحيم. في تلك اللحظة، فقدت أختي وزوجها وأطفالها. كما فقدت أخي وصديقي العزيز والعديد من زملائي. كل ذلك ضاع في ثوانٍ. لا أجد كلمات تصف هذا الدمار.

وها أنا الآن فقدت كل شيء عملي ومصدر رزقي أبحث عن إعادة بناء حياتنا انا وعائلتي في مكان أكثر أمانا ومستقبل أكثر سلاما .. لذلك أدعوكم إلى الانضمام إلى حملة جمع التبرعات هذه .. لمساعدتي وعائلتي المكونة من خمسة أفراد للعيش بشكل طبيعي وتوفير ما يلزم لهم للبقاء على قيد الحياة ومن ثم الخروج من غزة للنجاة بهم إلى مكان أفضل.
