My name is India, and I'm reaching out during one of the most difficult times in my life. I'm asking for help to save my late mother's home a place that means so much more than just a house.
This home is where I grew up, where countless family memories were made, and today it is my primary residence. After my mother's passing, the property remained in her estate, and financial challenges have made it incredibly difficult to protect the home from foreclosure.
The property is currently in active foreclosure due to missed mortgage payments. This is not because of damage to the home or unpaid tax. Unfortunately, because the property is owned in my late mother's estate and is subject to probate, the legal options available to stop the Aug. 4th, 2026 foreclosure are extremely limited. The mortgage servicer has advised that the loan must either be brought current by paying approximately $14,000 to cure the default by 7/31/26 or paid off in full with a balance of approximately $182,000.
I'm doing everything I can to stop the foreclosure on my mother's home, but I can't do it alone. Losing this house would mean losing my childhood home and the place I currently call home.
The property is also listed for sale with a real estate agent in hopes of finding a buyer before the foreclosure process is completed. Unfortunately, the foreclosure timeline may not allow enough time for a traditional sale. Saving the home from foreclosure would provide the opportunity to preserve the equity my mother spent years building instead of risking a forced foreclosure sale. Every contribution helps create the time needed to pursue the best possible outcome.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward:
- Bringing the mortgage current to stop the foreclosure.
- Help preserve this family home while the estate is being probated. If the fundraising exceeds what's needed to stop the foreclosure, any remaining funds will be used for necessary repairs and maintenance to help preserve the home.
