With a grieving heart, We humbly reach out in hopes that you may be able to help us bring our beloved father home for his final rest.
Our father, aged 68, recently passed away in the United States after a painful battle with stage 4 lung cancer. His illness progressed quickly — what began as difficulty breathing turned into severe complications. The cancer had spread to his brain, requiring emergency neurosurgery, and in his final week, it reached his liver. His body could no longer endure the pain.
He had been living in Los Angeles, California with our mother doing their best to build a life for themselves and prepare for their retirement. When he fell ill, our mother has her hands full to care for him full-time. They currently relied on limited government support and family assistance but the mounting medical bills and daily needs became overwhelming.
The hardest part was being apart. Despite our efforts, we couldn’t travel to the U.S. due to visa constraints. We weren’t able to be there in his final moments — to hold his hand, comfort him, or say goodbye. This distance has made our grief even more difficult to bear.
Now that he’s gone, our greatest wish is to bring him home to the Philippines — to lay him to rest surrounded by the family and friends who love him. We want to give him a proper wake and burial that honors his memory and the life he lived.
But after months of medical expenses, we are struggling financially. The cost of repatriating his remains and arranging a funeral is currently beyond our means.
And so, with heavy yet hopeful hearts, we are appealing for your support. Any amount you can offer will help us bring our father home and give him the dignified farewell he deserves. Your kindness will help ease our burden and allow us to finally mourn as a family — together, in the presence of the man who meant the world to us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Your generosity would mean more than words can express.
