Support Needed to Reopen Cemetery Plot for Mom

Hi Everyone, 

I’m reaching out during the most heartbreaking time of my life.

My beloved mother is in her final days, and while I’ve tried to prepare as best as I can, I’ve just found out about a cost I simply cannot afford, the cemetery reopening fee. We have a family plot at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY, but the cost to reopen the grave for burial is $2,600 on weekdays,  and $3,200 on Saturday. This came as a complete shock to me.

I am disabled and my only source of income is Social Security Disability. I’ve done everything I can to ensure my mom has a respectful funeral. I do have life insurance to cover the basic funeral expenses, but I was not prepared for this additional and significant cost.

My mom was everything to me, loving, kind, and selfless. She deserves to be laid to rest with dignity and peace. I’m humbly asking for help from anyone who might be able to contribute, any amount will make a difference and will bring me closer to giving my mother the farewell she deserves.
