Hi everyone, I don’t usually ask for help like this, but I’m in a really difficult spot right now and trying to avoid things getting worse.
I’m trying to raise $4,000 to cover rent and basic bills while I keep applying for jobs every day and trying to get back on my feet. I also have two cats I’ve had for years that I’m doing everything I can to keep housed and safe.
I was laid off in July 2025 from a job I had for 3 years. Since then, I’ve applied to around 1,000 jobs and haven’t been able to find stable work yet.
To stay afloat, I’ve done everything I could think of. I drained my 401k (~$16k), sublet rooms in my apartment, and have been actively trying to fill the remaining rooms through Roomies and SpareRoom. Right now I only have one roommate paying $1,500/month.
My total rent is $4,400. Even after splitting it, I’m still responsible for about $2,900. I’m coming up on the end of March with no income left.
My lease charges a 10% late fee starting the second day rent is late (~$290 immediately), with no grace period, which can spiral really quickly if I fall behind.
I’ve tried getting a loan (denied by Navy Federal), and I don’t have family nearby who can help financially.
I’m happy to provide proof of my lease, rent, or anything else for transparency.
If anyone is able to help at all, even just sharing this, I would genuinely appreciate it more than I can say.
Thank you for reading.
