Hello family, friends, and our supportive community. Unfortunately, we do not have good news. As of December 2nd, my father has had two court hearings and has been denied bail. He remains detained. We have now been asked to provide proof of his identity and documentation showing that he has been in good standing up to this point.

It appears there are records suggesting he entered from Guatemala, which is completely untrue. Because of this incorrect information, the court has determined that he does not qualify for asylum. He is not seeking asylum, and we will be submitting evidence of his current immigration status and his pending case to show his true country of origin and the real reason he is in the United States.

Our family is in disbelief and at a loss for words. We don’t know what more we can do besides stand by and wait for updates. We believe the attorney we hired is doing everything she can, but moments like this make us feel helpless. We do not understand where this false information is coming from. We are terrified that my father could be deported to a country he is not from, and we are working tirelessly to gather all the evidence needed for his case.

His next court date is scheduled for Tuesday, December 9th. As a family, we want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has donated, shown up, shared our story, and supported us in every way possible. Thank you. We are deeply worried about what lies ahead, about my father’s future, and the future of our family.
