Hello! My name is Erika Lybbert. My father, MSgt Carlos J. Davis (ret), is currently in the ICU in Barcelona Spain after a sudden and life threatening medical emergency.

He traveled to Spain with my mother on vacation and on 5 May 2026 was admitted into the Hospital General de Granollers due to contracting pneumonia. Due to his age, the pneumonia made it necessary for him to be sedated and intubated. He is currently receiving critical care and our family is facing rapidly growing medical expenses. International costs, and the challenge of coordinating his treatment far from home.

Because he is not a Spanish citizen, we are responsible for paying all costs up front rather than after he is discharged from the hospital.

The cost per week in the ICU has been 15,000 euros. Once he is out of the ICU the costs will be substantially lower. Any support - whether financial or simply sharing this fundraiser - will help us focus on his recovery instead of mounting bills.

My father served his country for 20 years, and now we are doing everything we can to support him in this critical moment.
