My fiancée and I are five months into our pregnancy, and we recently received some of the most devastating news of our lives. During a routine checkup, doctors discovered a severe buildup of fluid in our unborn child’s brain. After further tests and consultations, we were told that if our baby survives, they would likely need to be on life support for their entire life. Hearing this has left us completely heartbroken, and we have been struggling to process the reality that we need to terminate our pregnancy for the sake of our child.

This situation has taken an enormous emotional toll on both of us. We have dreamed of becoming parents, and having to make this decision is something we never imagined. On top of the emotional pain, we are now facing significant financial challenges. We need to travel to Boston for the procedure, which means paying for gas, staying in a hotel for three nights, and covering the cost of food while we are away. We are already stretched thin financially and simply do not have the resources to pay for the surgery and related expenses on our own.
