Support needed for urgent leukemia treatment
Donation protected
February 26th of this year, my life took a turn for the worse. I went to the hospital because I was not feeling well . They took my labs, and the doctor came back with a look on his face I will never forget. I was diagnosed with leukemia. My official diagnosis is AML. https://amp.cancer.org/cancer/types/acute-myeloid-leukemia/about/what-is-aml.html. It is hard to put in words how this diagnosis has shaken me and the close ones who knew about this. This is an aggressive cancer that needs to be treated aggressively.
I was rushed to RIH and given 6 bags of blood. Then everything happened so fast; my induction phase was extremely aggressive. I spent a month in the hospital getting treatment. I was told I would lose all of my hair, which I was in denial about until it happened. I went from being a normal 26-year-old, working full-time, going out with friends, and enjoying life to feeling and being sick all the time and going in and out of the hospital.
To beat this disease, I need a bone transplant, which will need to happen in Boston. While being treated, I had no insurance for the beginning of my treatment. With all of the rounds of chemotherapy, medications, lab work constantly, and transportation, my hospital bills are overflowing. All monetary donations will go towards medical expenses and treatments.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, sharing, and contributing in any way that you can.
