Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out because I recently received a parking citation on campus that I unfortunately cannot afford to pay on my own right now. The ticket was issued for parking in a handicap-designated space in a campus garage. From the position where I parked, the space appeared to be marked as a compact space with white boundary lines and a “compact” label, and there were no visible blue pavement markings within my line of sight when I backed in. Due to the layout of the area and dim lighting on the first floor of the garage, I genuinely believed I was parking in a standard compact space.
I take accessible parking regulations seriously and would never intentionally misuse a designated space. I submitted an appeal explaining the situation, but the appeal was denied and the decision is final.
As a student, the fine is a significant financial burden for me right now. If anyone is able or willing to help, even a small contribution would mean a lot and help me cover this unexpected expense.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and for any support you’re able to give.
