Help with medical expenses during Brain Injury Recovery

Hello there, for those of you who don’t know, My name is Madison, I’m wearing grey in the photo. I suffered a traumatic brain injury on July 15th 2023. I was 24 at the time, working part time on weekends and a caregiver during the week. My accident happened at work and due to the extent of the injury I was not able to return to work. I was sent to urgent care for a concussion and then sent home to keep an eye on it. 5 days later I was still unable to walk, unable to coordinate any movements, I was dealing with unbearable headaches and dizziness so we decided to go to the ER. There, I was diagnosed with a severe concussion and post concussive syndrome. Unfortunately my workers compensation case didn’t open until about 2 weeks after my accident so we went to different doctors during that time to figure out what was going on, with no success. After my case was opened some stuff started happening with regular appointments and they tried acupuncture. None of this worked. A few months after my accident we received a letter that workers comp would no longer be helping me. They wouldn’t pay for medical and they wouldn’t pay me weekly while I wasn’t able to work. Fortunately they sent us to a good doctor and physical rehabilitation center before abandoning us in November 2023. Shortly after the accident I had to move back in with my parents because I can’t do anything by myself. My parents live in Belen and have to take me to appointments multiple times a week up in Albuquerque. Physical therapy is showing some improvements but still no one knows what’s going on. We have not gotten an official diagnosis of why I can’t walk or coordinate. We would like to go to the Mayo Clinic where we can find some answers. If we know what is happening we might discover a way to heal me faster. However, the Mayo Clinic does not accept my current insurance and I need that insurance for a different health issue. In order for us to get to into the Mayo Clinic we need $10,000 so they can run all the tests they need to while trying to figure out what’s happened to me. My mom has not been able to work this whole time because she has to stay home with me, I also have bills I haven’t been able to pay because I cannot work. We’re spending money on gas and food, and right now the appointments are covered by my insurance but if they decide to stop paying then we’ll have to pay out of pocket. It has been a crazy past year and I’ve had so much help I’ll never forget. We need answers but we just can’t do it on our own, please help donate if you can, and if you can’t, please help us by sharing this so it reaches as many people as it can and keep me in your prayers. I will get better, I’m working hard and seeing small wins more and more but I’d be lying if I said I was okay with how long it’s been and how long it might be before I can walk again. This injury has completely changed my life, before, I was so independent. Now, I need to use a wheelchair, I need help showering and changing, I want to find out what happened so we can come up with a plan to get me back to living my life!
