Jody Smith has been a friendly, familiar face to many in the Western Kentucky community. A news producer at WPSD-TV in Paducah. An actor on stages all throughout the region.
But several years ago, Jody developed a debilitating neurodegenerative condition, which has left him a quadriplegic requiring round-the-clock caregiving.
Tragically, this August (2023), both of his parents passed away within weeks of each other, leaving Jody without a primary, in-home caregiver. The emotional toll this has taken is devastating enough. But the physical and financial burden has become overwhelming.
Those who know Jody would, no doubt, all agree: he’s one of the kindest, gentlest people you could ever meet. A devoted friend. A deeply caring soul, who would graciously help anyone in need. Now, Jody needs the help of others.
Anything you can do to support him in this extremely difficult situation will be greatly appreciated. Your generous contributions will go towards:
- Hiring professional caregivers who can provide support and assistance, and allow Jody to stay in his home (and not be committed to a nursing home).
