I’m reaching out to you today on behalf of a very special and urgent cause. My friend, Paul Connelly, has recently encountered a medical crisis that has left him and his family facing significant financial and emotional hardships.

Paul was recently diagnosed with sepsis stemming from an abscess in his liver, which was complicated by an underlying condition. This sudden health issue required him to be hospitalized for six days, and he is now facing a long recovery period of at least 5 weeks of homecare, followed by numerous doctor visits, laboratory tests, and prescriptions.

Unfortunately, the timing of Paul’s illness coincides with a change in employment, creating a gap in medical insurance. As a result, all hospital bills and ongoing medical costs must be covered out of pocket. Given the gravity of his condition and the extensive care he requires, the financial burden on Paul and Hattie is overwhelming.

Paul is not only battling a serious illness but is also unable to work for an undetermined period, adding financial strain to his already stressful recovery. As a friend and supporter of Paul, Hattie, and their children, I am organizing a fundraising initiative to help alleviate their financial pressures during this challenging time.
