Post-Hurricane Support Needed For Our Small Resilient Family

Hello, I am humbly requesting some assistance in a time of dire need. My parents live in St. Petersburg, FL, where Hurricane Helene caused historic flooding never before seen, with 6.2 ft of storm surge coupled with high tide. The waters rose above their house's floor level (which is raised) and completely submerged the detached garage, causing catastrophic damage to their belongings, furniture, appliances, and tools (which my dad relies on for his work). Unfortunately, due to the constant increase of flood insurance rates by nearly 50% every year, they were no longer able to afford the premiums and have not had it since last year. The timing could not have been worse.

I have come to FL from CA to help with whatever I can, both physically and monetarily, and we are getting some help with some of the repairs from family and friends, thankfully. However, the extent of the damages far exceeds what any of us can handle. This house is also critical to their ability to retire with grace. To that end, the road ahead is a long and difficult one, so if you are able to contribute any amount at all, we would be forever grateful.
