Our beloved friend Ciara is in urgent need of our help. Ciara, a dedicated and loving massage therapist, has always been a bright light in our lives. Her infectious joy, kindness, and unwavering support have made a profound impact on everyone who knows her. As an amazing friend, partner, mother, and community member, she has always shown up for others with enthusiasm and love.
Unfortunately, Ciara is now facing a significant challenge of her own. After months of severe stomach pain, she recently experienced a medical emergency that has left her unable to work. She was diagnosed with gallstones and a severe infection that required emergency surgery to remove her gallbladder. Despite the surgery, complications arose, including a stone lodged in her bile duct and further inflammation. Ciara now has four incisions, significant pain, and limited mobility. Her recovery will be lengthy, and she is unable to return to her physically demanding job as a massage therapist for several months.

More About Ciara’s Journey:
Ciara’s story is one of incredible resilience and strength. As a teenager, she survived thyroid cancer, which required several surgeries including the removal of her thyroid and a total of 27 lymph nodes. At 30, she underwent a hysterectomy, and at 32, she had 75% of her stomach removed. Despite these significant health challenges, Ciara has always maintained a positive attitude, spreading joy and light wherever she goes. Her motto is that life is too short to let difficulties bring you down, and she views each day as a gift.
Now, Ciara is once again facing a tough road ahead. Her recent medical emergency, which involved gallbladder removal and additional complications, has left her in a vulnerable state. With her physical job on hold, she is facing months of recovery and mounting medical bills.
Supporting her through this time is not only about providing financial assistance but also about honoring the spirit of community and interconnectedness. Ubuntu, an African concept, reflects our shared humanity: if one of us suffers, we all suffer. Let’s come together to care for one another as we would want to be cared for ourselves.
