Help Ken Thomas Battle Colorectal Cancer
Donation protected
Hello Family, Friends, Colleagues, Loved Ones and Friends of Friends,
Our friends need help. Truthfully, they could have used our support for a while, but I could only convince them recently to let me reach out on their behalf. They wouldn't have given me the green light unless the situation turned dire. Unfortunately, we are at that crucial point.
In July of 2021, Ken Thomas, a community organizer, musician, and well-loved drink slinger at The Fortune Teller Bar, was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, which quickly revealed itself to be metastatic. Ken’s treatment has involved several rounds of chemotherapy and intense radiation for the past year. He has been unable to work as a bartender at the Fortune Teller Bar, so he and his partner Ellen have been making do as best they can. Because of covid, they have observed proper safety protocols non-stop since his diagnosis. The extra layer of isolation has been challenging, and Ellen has been reading Tarot virtually as much as she can to support their little family as safe as possible.
There is still a lot of work to overcome Ken’s cancer, and their friends and family have convinced them to fundraise for the next year of treatment. Ken’s doctors are tirelessly working on getting him through this, and it would be amazing if the community could help with some financial support. It took a while, but we convinced Ken and Ellen that struggling to pay living expenses on top of debilitating cancer treatment was more than they should bear.
Any level of contribution would help. This fund will go a long way to giving Ken and Ellen the material support they need to survive this painful period.
