Support Needed for Headstones for Our Loved Ones

Hello myself, and my sister are asking for help. Our mother passed in December 2024. She had a small insurance policy, which was just enough to cover her service and burial. Our mother was just 67 years old. She was ill which required her to be hospitalized. Unfortunately, she was a victim of hospital neglect. The MD and nurse in care of our mother knew her condition had changed. She was clearly in distress, failed to take immediate action and collect the necessary tests needed to find the cause of the change of condition our mother was experiencing in the ICU. We asked the nurse multiple times to get the MD. It was communicated to us that the MD was paged and emailed but could not be located and her whereabouts were unknown. Two and a half hours later had passed as our mother laid in her bed, disoriented, agitated, and unable to speak clearly. Finally, the MD arrived to our mother’s room distracted with what appeared to be personal phone calls and texts. The MD was rude. Her demeanor uncompassionate and uncaring towards our mother‘s condition, failing to approach our mother‘s bedside to evaluate or even acknowledge our mother’s distress. She insisted her ammonia levels were elevated with no clear evidence. The MD insisted this was the issue at hand while my mother’s stay at the hospital. It was told to our family on occasions that our mother’s ammonia levels have become elevated, although on those occasions, Mom never exhibited this type of distress that she had been currently experiencing. The MD continued to insist it were our mothers ammonia levels and push the use of laxatives. It was noted by hospital staff that throughout the day our mother was fine although several family members witnessed a significant change in our mother‘s mental and physical status. Nine hours had passed and at 5 AM we received a phone call from the MD that it was told to her by the RN in care of our mother, found her in her hospital bed unresponsive, although never losing her pulses, had to be intubated. According to our mother‘s medical records it was noted that at 4:30 AM the laboratory notified the RN of our mother’s extremely low blood sugar and abnormal CO2 levels. Also according to the medical records, there were no blood test providing elevated ammonia levels, and no blood test done throughout the night. Our mother‘s body went into an acidotic state in which she was unable to recover from and eventually led to her death. We are sharing our story with you and hope that someone will reach out and possibly have information on a malpractice lawyer that may take our case in which we are currently in search of. My sister and I want the staff and MD held responsible for neglecting to take immediate action by providing the necessary blood tests and treatments which we believe could have prevented our mother’s premature death. Our mother deserves justice! Left behind our two daughters, a son, a 14 year-old grandson whom she was raising and many grandkids and family. Our mother is preceded in death by my two daughters. One passed away from leukemia in 2005 and another daughter who passed in a tragic car accident in of 2021. We are asking for donations to buy our mother and sister who passed in October 2021 a headstone. Anything will help and will be appreciated from the deepest with gratitude and sincerity of our hearts. May the good Lord above bless you all.
