I was recently pulled in for emergency surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in my colon.
In February 2024 I started experiencing strange symptoms. My primary physician referred me to a GI specialist, but unfortunately they could not schedule me for a colonoscopy until June. After 4 months of discomfort, the day finally arrived and I went in expecting a routine procedure. I was put under anesthesia and when I awoke I was in extreme pain and being taken by ambulance to the ER. My family was advised that there were complications due to I had a complete blockage in my colon and needed surgery immediately to remove the cancerous tumor. I then spent over a week in the hospital for surgery and recovery.
The medical insurance deductibles, and other out of pocket expenses have been mounting. These unexpected medical expenses, coupled with the fact that my wife was recently laid off from her job, have left us in somewhat of a bind. So the funds raised will be used to pay off the doctors and other bills.
My wife and our 8 year old son have been extremely brave in the face of all of this, but it has been hard on them. I am usually not the type to ask for anything, but sometimes life throws us a curveball.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
