Let me start off by introducing myself my name is Tashawna Kaatz and my mother is Dotty Kaatz. My mother unexpectedly passed away on July17. As I sit here I'm trying to think of the correct thing to say I'm unsure what that is. So I'm going to share my mom's story the night/morning of her passing. On July 16 911 was called three times before they arrived which was about ,50 minutes. Upon arrival of my mother's residence my mom was in severe pain and was a little disoriented due to the pain. They wanted my mom to lay on the bed and wanted her to stop shaking her body was almost seizing from the pain she was in. They treated her poorly and attempted to put her legs and arms down to strap them down because she couldn't quit shaking. It's took them another 45 -50 minutes to get her to the hospital by ambulance and get her checked in. At that time they made her wait in the waiting room for another 30 minutes before finally being called back behind er doors. My mom walked around the waiting room in severe pain while they watched her thinking it was all an act. Once she was in the back they did blood work and did a lower abdomen CT where they saw fluid around her bowel and air and a possible Infection but they were unsure what was going on and needed her med list. At that time we knew her enzymes were at zero. Her oxygen was at 88 percent and she was still in tremendous pain. I left and went to get meds and by time I came back she was put into a medical induced a coma without consent. She was not able to make the decision and they said they could not do it without a med list. My mom took a turn for the worse as she had about 13-15 different IVs with a ton of meds pumping into her along with a machine now breathing for her. I was lost and confused how this happened and let me tell you it shouldn't have. The hospital tried to donate her organs before they even asked my permission they gave mother meds she was not supposed to have. They played a roll in her death and she should be here! I'm now left to plan a funeral with zero planning or preparation. The hospital is denying me a autopsy due to her medical history! They want 5-8thousand dollar for the autopsy and toxicology report. That's not including the 7 thousand for a basic funeral and burial. They are refusing to sign her death certificate. Something bad happened and I'm so lost but I'm determined to find out what they did to my mom. They are covering something up. The Dr said he wouldn't put his name on anything he knew something happened. He then told us the machine was breathing for her and medication was keeping her heart alive. She had no pulse and honestly you could tell but I didn't want to accept it. I had to make the hardest decision to.let my mama go. Something I didn't know would happen while she is as so young. My moms heart finally stopped at 4:25 am on July 17th. My mom left behind her children, her grandchildren and the live of her life they were together for 26 years. I am asking for donations to help with an autopsy and anything left would go towards the funeral. I'm aware that I'm asking for a miracle but at this time I truly need one. I need justice for my mama. Any donation will be more then appreciated because every little bit helps. Thank you for reading our story.
