Support Needed for Cleo's Medical Bills
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kyndal and my partner and I are raising funds to help cover our dog, Cleo's recent vet bills. Cleo is a shepherd mix who we brought home 5 years ago. She's been through a few homes in her lifetime but we are definitely her last and forever home. We don't even know how to put into words how sweet Cleo is. We love her dearly. She's a simple lady. Never cared for toys much but she loves her people more than anything. She loves sunbathing on the deck, a good snuggle on the couch with cozy blankets, and long walks to anywhere really, but if they lead to a little sweet treat for her, even better.

Friday night around 10pm we were all hanging out in the living room when Cleo began pacing and was unable to get comfortable anywhere. Shortly after she began retching but was unsuccessful in bringing anything up. I thought maybe her bully stick was just not agreeing with her maybe. We went outside in the backyard for some air but I could tell something was really off. I noticed her stomach was looking swollen and then she began breathing differently when we came back inside. I was immediately suspecting she had (GDV) Gastric dilatation and volvulus which is a life-threatening disorder most commonly seen in large, deep-chested dogs, although any dog may be affected. In its early stage, the stomach fills with gas, causing a simple gastric dilatation or "bloat". Sometimes, the condition progresses no further than a bloat. A GDV, however, is a progression of the bloat into a volvulus, in which the huge, gas-filled stomach twists upon itself so that both the entrance and exit of the stomach become blocked. This is a life-threatening emergency that requires urgent surgery to correct.
My partner and I immediately started calling the vets where we live but all were closed and their voicemails all said to go to Bridgwater veterinary hospital, so we call and let them know we're on the way and begin our 50 minute drive there. They immediately took Cleo in and took an xray of her abdomen and confirmed that she had GDV. Her condition was life threatening and she required surgery to save her life. The surgery was successful and Cleo is doing really well now in the veterinary team's care. We are so insanely happy that Cleo is okay and gets to come home to us today after 72 hours in the hospital.

I am reaching out to ask for support to help cover some of Cleo's very expensive bills. We unfortunately came in at the high end of the quote being at $10,194.
The full list of procedures and care will be listed below.
Any contribution, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.
If you are unable to donate, we totally understand, especially being right after the holidays. We do ask that you please share our sweet Cleo's story if you can. Thank you so much for your kindness and support. (:
