Support Needed: Facing Losing My Home

Help Me Save My Home After Devastating Storms
Last September, Hurricane Helene hit Asheville and much of Western North Carolina with incredible force. The storm didn’t just destroy buildings—it upended lives. Many of us lost power for over a month and went without clean water for nearly two. To get through each day, I—like so many others—had to drain my savings and emergency funds just to survive.
Then came December. A bitter cold snap dropped temperatures below freezing and kept them there for weeks. With no choice but to keep the heat on, I was left with sky-high utility bills I couldn’t avoid. I used every remaining dollar—funds I had saved to pay my property taxes—just to stay warm and safe.
Now, I’m at risk of losing my home.
The county has started the process of auctioning off my house over a $2,000 tax bill. It’s devastating to think that after everything, I could end up without a roof over my head. I’ve done all I can, but I’ve reached the end of my resources. I’m asking for help from my community and from anyone moved by this story. Your support—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this campaign—could be the lifeline that keeps me housed and gives me a chance to rebuild.
Please help me stay in my home. Every bit of kindness makes a difference.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
