Support Needed After Unexpected Flood Loss
Donation protected

*Update 3/22/25
On Friday 3/21/25, I found out that the house took enough water damage that it will not be livable for several months and will need to find a new place to live, officially making me homeless and sleeping in my car for the time being.
On 3/16/25, we had a once-in-maybe-15-years happening where the creek near my house flooded. For 4.5 years that I have lived here, I have been paying for insurance I was told was required because I lived in a flood zone. Now that a flood has happened, my insurance has told me that the only thing I'm not covered for is flood, despite being told I was because it was required. So now all cleaning costs, hotel costs (since I can't stay in the house for the time being), and all damaged property will not be covered. About 75% of my clothes are ruined, our dressers, bookcases, TV stands, couch, etc., have all taken water damage. In total, I had roughly 6"-7" of water actually inside the house, so anything not on a table or actually on a bed got ruined. I honestly don't expect much; I'm typically not one to even ask for help, but I'm at my end.
Any and all help will go to expenses for cleaning and places to stay while figuring out the next steps in the process, from there all proceeds will go to getting new clothes, furniture, etc for myself and the boys. Expenses will also go to getting a uhaul as I just found out I need to get as much out of the house as possible.
* We have found new home but are still working on replacing items lost and catching up on bills.
