Over a week ago, our best friend and roommate was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent a life-saving amputation. While his insurance is covering the cost of his medical care, his recovery will be long, and he is unable to work for the foreseeable future.

In the meantime, our household has been hit hard financially. With one less income, we are struggling to cover basic necessities and keep up with monthly bills. Our utilities are overdue, groceries are running low, and even putting gas in the car has become difficult.
