Due to the government reduction, we have retired and started our move from Hawaii to Florida. We contracted a moving company to deliver our household goods and they picked them up in early July. Due to delays within the company the goods did not reach their storage facility until sometime in September. They then hired two people to make the final delivery from their warehouse to Florida. The two people selected to deliver the goods, rented a truck from Penske and picked up the goods. They then drove to Prescott AZ, where they flipped the vehicle. They pretended to be moving company employees informed the police that another team was coming to recover the goods. They emptied the truck on the side of the road and a tow truck removed the flipped vehicle. As soon as the police left the scene, they fled, leaving everything we own on the side of the road. A passerby noticed the stuff, since it was on a busy highway and posted a local online ad that there was free stuff on the side of the road inviting everyone to come and get some. After 5 days of hundreds of people taking all of our furniture, valuables, clothes, photos, literally everything we had ever accumulated, a police officer inspecting the scene found some documentation with our names on it and called us. After 5 days of picking, we found out what had happened. After 7 days, the moving company is still telling us the stuff is in route and we need to pay them ASAP or they will start adding charges. Any help provided would be greatly appreciated as we have to replace everything and find a way to get by without the items that can never be replaced.
