Update #1 as of November 24;
Last night around 10:30 PM, Bridgett began having contractions at 19 weeks and went to the ER. The hospital recommended transferring her to the next town where her specialist is located, but no ambulance was available, so she and Justin had to make the drive themselves.
She has been admitted to the hospital, and the plan is to keep her for a minimum of a week while they work to manage the contractions. She is currently on medication to help stabilize her, and she has an ultrasound later today to check on the baby, her cervix, and the cerclage.
With her now off work and Justin needing to continue working despite wanting to stay with her, this situation is adding significant financial strain on top of the medical needs. Please continue sharing and if you're able to donate at all, it would be much appreciated. Thank you all so much!
Hi everyone, and thank you for taking a moment to read this. Our family is reaching out because my brother Justin and his wife Bridgett are going through an extremely difficult and unexpected medical situation during what should be an exciting time.
At just 18 weeks pregnant, Bridgett had to undergo an emergency cerclage this past Wednesday to protect her pregnancy. This procedure saved their baby, but it came with a long road of strict monitoring and weekly travel out of town to a specialist. These appointments are hours away, require time off work, and bring additional medical costs that are quickly adding up.
This situation has been especially emotional because earlier this year, in May, they experienced the premature birth of their last baby. The trauma and grief from that experience are still fresh, and now they are doing everything possible to keep their baby safe—but the financial strain is becoming overwhelming.
Because of the cerclage and the risks involved, Bridgett should truly be on bed rest. However, she is planning to return to work on Monday simply because they cannot afford for her to stay home. Missing work means lost income, and debt has already started piling up from medical bills, travel costs, and day-to-day living expenses. They’re doing everything they can, but it’s just not enough right now.
We are hoping to raise $5,000 to help cover:
Weekly travel costs to and from the specialist
Lost wages while she recovers and reduces her activity
Medical bills related to the emergency procedure
Household expenses so they can stay afloat during this high-risk pregnancy
Any amount you can give—large or small—will make a huge difference in helping them focus on keeping their baby safe instead of worrying about how they’ll pay their bills. If you’re unable to donate, sharing the link would help more than you know.
Thank you for supporting them during one of the hardest moments of their lives. Your kindness means more than words can say.
