Support Needed After Car Accident Trauma

Hi friends!

As most of you know, I was involved in a car accident Sunday 8/25/24. I was hit by a drunk driver who ran a stop sign going double the speed limit and absolutely smashed my car, causing my seat airbags to come out, my curtain side airbags to come out, and in the blink of an eye, he totaled my car. The impact was SO hard my Apple Watch and iPhone called 911 for me.

Thankfully, my son wasn’t in the car as that was HIS SIDE of the car!

By the grace of God, I am able to walk away from this accident! I couldn’t do much for over a week, and still have quite a few limitations, and a tremendous amount of bruising from the airbags, the seatbelt, and the overall impact - pain in my chest when I do literally anything!! Multiple pulled/strained muscles, missed work, and an overabundance of anxiety about driving now.

Honestly, I’m telling you, I’ve been really going through it this year - but I’m hoping the great people of the internet can help come together to make my now, forced purchase of a new car - a little less financially stressful on me.

I’ve driven a Toyota Corolla for most of my life. Financed my car 10 years ago, paid it off over 5 years ago… and it would have lasted me probably another 10 years. I wasn’t anywhere close to prepared for this scenario, because I was just telling my son, “When you’re old enough, I’m going to teach you how to drive on this car!”

The drunk who hit me has no license, isn’t listed on the insurance of the car he was driving - so it now seems to be an uphill battle to get into a car!

My insurance didn’t value it at a price in which I can get the same exact one (even from 10 years ago.. inflation is really hitting every single freaking aspect of our lives!!! & it should be a crime honestly).
