Dear Friends and Kind Strangers,
I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart and in one of the most difficult moments of my life. Many of you know that I recently underwent a partial amputation due to severe and repeated infections that spread into my bone. The recovery has been incredibly painful, and the financial strain has been overwhelming.
Today, I received even more devastating news. My doctor called to tell me that my recent tests show signs of a serious blood disorder—either leukemia or something very similar. I now have to begin oncology appointments right away and start additional medications, all while still healing from my amputation.
The cost of everything continues to rise. I’m already struggling to afford the medicine I’m on, and now I’ll need even more treatments, tests, and appointments. I also have to purchase diabetic shoes and special insoles once my foot treatment continues—another major expense that I simply cannot manage alone.
But beyond the medical challenges, I want to share something even more important: I have a family who loves me deeply and needs me here. They are doing everything they can to support me, but the stress and worry are heavy on all of us. I want to get better not just for myself, but for them. I want to continue being a husband, a “pee paw,” a friend, and a presence they can depend on. They need me — and I need the chance to keep fighting for them.
I am trying my hardest to stay strong, but right now, I need help more than ever. Every donation, every share, every kind word truly matters. Even the smallest amount helps me cover medications, appointments, and the essentials I need just to keep going through this frightening and uncertain time.
If you can, please share my story or help it reach someone who might be able to support me. Your kindness and compassion mean more than I can ever express.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this, for caring, and for standing with me and my family.
With deep gratitude,
Neal Hollingsworth
