Help Natt Beat Cancer
We are raising funds for our dear friend, Natt Hanson, to help cover the overwhelming costs of her medical care.
We met Natt at work about a decade or more ago and instantly saw how deeply she cares for others. She began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), became a Registered Nurse (RN), and last year she started working as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) - attending to our communities' cardiopulmonary needs. Natt is compassionate, detail-oriented, intelligent, and incredibly hardworking. She spent her entire career caring for others—and rarely, if ever, does she ask for help.
On May 30, what was supposed to be a routine mammogram check-up quickly turned into an urgent MRI and same-day biopsy. After weeks of doctor's appointments, lab draws, and procedures, Natt received the devastating news:
• Diagnosis: Right breast multifocal invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC)
• Tumor details: 1.1 cm primary mass with 0.7 cm satellite lesions (MRI)
• Grade: 3
• ER: 80% (2+) | PR: 0 | HER2: Negative (IHC 2+, FISH negative) | Ki-67: 50%
• Stage: IA (AJCC 8th edition, T1c N0 M0)
• Oncotype DX Recurrence Score: 38 (high risk)
• Family history: Two aunts and a cousin lost to breast cancer on her father's side
Because of the aggressive breast cancer diagnosis and high recurrence score, Natt chose to receive treatment in Denver—an 8-hour round-trip drive every two weeks, often requiring several nights of hotel stays. She began chemotherapy on July 25 with a ddAC+T regimen (Dose-Dense Adriamycin, Cyclophosphamide, and Taxol) over 8 cycles, every 2 weeks. This aggressive approach gives her the best chance of improvement with long-term survival and hopefully reduces the risk of the cancer returning. Special thanks to her incredibly supportive workplace, Wyoming Cardiopulmonary, which has adjusted her hours and provided time off for her chemotherapy days. And to her ever-supportive husband Gordy, who stayed with her through every appointment, treatment, and everything in between.
We share this journey with a humble heart, asking for your love, prayers, and support. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help lift the financial burden so she can focus on what matters most—healing. Knowing Natt personally, we know she would never ask for help, so we will. We wish Natt to get every chance she can have in surviving this – focus on her treatment, ease any complications the chemo treatment may bring, and spend as much time as she can healing comfortably at home with her family.
All funds will go to Natt's cancer treatment, travel expenses, and other out-of-pocket expenses.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, compassion, and generosity.
