Support Nati's Brave Fight Against Ovarian Cancer

Hello everyone,

I want to share the story of my dear sister Joassi Mejía, who we affectionately call "Nati". She is a 43-year-old widow, and in September 2023, she was diagnosed with serous ovarian cancer. Since then, she has received 6 rounds of chemotherapy with carboplatin and paclitaxel. Nati has a peritoneal drainage, but due to her low albumin, an operation was not possible. Additionally, she has developed an allergic reaction to the chemotherapy, making her a high-risk patient. She has currently started a new treatment with liposomal doxorubicin, having received the first session on June 30.

Nati has faced multiple recent challenges: a serious fall, a catheter infection, and contracting COVID-19. Additionally, she has problems with her gallbladder. However, despite all these difficulties, she continues to fight bravely. Fortunately, she has no liver or kidney damage, which is a good sign.

Nati's diagnosis is ovarian cancer with carcinomatosis. To complement her current treatment, we want to start an additional treatment that ranges between $4,500 to $5,400 dollars, not counting other medical expenses.

I am her sister, Yoella, and I am her only support, and have been covering expenses since last year, but I do not live in Peru, I reside in the United States. The only person who can take care of her there is our 80-year-old mother. I have been doing my best to travel there to help out. Despite everything, Nati still has a great desire to live and fight for her son.

Nati is taking advantage of all the resources of the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases (INEN) in Peru to win this battle. Our entire family is opting for this additional treatment and we need your support to make it possible.

Quiero compartir la historia de mi querida hermana Joassi Mejía, a quien llamamos con cariño "Nati". Tiene 43 años y es viuda, en septiembre de 2023 le diagnosticaron cáncer de ovario seroso. Desde entonces, ha recibido 6 sesiones de quimioterapia con carboplatino y paclitaxel. Nati lleva un drenaje peritoneal, pero debido a su baja albúmina, la operación no fue posible. Además, ha desarrollado una reacción alérgica a la quimioterapia, lo que la convierte en una paciente de alto riesgo (RAM). Actualmente ha empezado un nuevo tratamiento con doxorrubicina liposomal, habiendo recibido la primera sesión el 30 de Junio.

Nati ha enfrentado múltiples desafíos: una grave caída, una infección por catéter y un contagio de COVID-19. Además, tiene problemas con su vesícula. Sin embargo, a pesar de todas estas dificultades, sigue luchando con valentía. Afortunadamente, no tiene daño hepático ni renal, lo cual es una buena señal.

El diagnóstico de Nati es cáncer de ovario con carcinomatosis. Para complementar su tratamiento actual, queremos empezar un tratamiento adicional que oscila entre los $4500 a $5400 dólares , sin contar con los otros gastos médicos.

Yo soy su hermana Yoella y soy su único apoyo y estoy cubriendo todos los gastos desde el año pasado pero no vivo en Perú, resido en Estados Unidos y la única persona que puede cuidarla es nuestra madre de 80 años, hago todo lo posible para poder viajar y estar con ellas. A pesar de todo, Nati sigue teniendo muchas ganas de vivir y luchar por su hijo.

Nati está aprovechando todos los recursos del Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas (INEN) en Perú para ganar esta batalla. Toda nuestra familia está optando por este tratamiento adicional y necesitamos su apoyo para hacerlo posible.
