Hi, I'm Christopher Weed, a volunteer and corporate sponsor at the Hall of Flame Fire Museum in Phoenix, Arizona. Hall of Flame is operated by the National Historical Fire Foundation, an incredible non-profit organization that works tirelessly to preserve our country’s rich firefighting history and educate future generations about its significance. Their efforts ensure that the bravery and sacrifices of firefighters are never forgotten.

The museum proudly showcases the world's largest collection of fire apparatus, with some items in the museum dating back to 1725 along with fire memorabilia, the Hall of Heroes, educational displays and much more.

On September 26 and October 13, 2025, Phoenix was hit by two huge monsoon rain storms which dropped over 4 inches of rain each time during a period of less than 90 minutes. On both occasions, the Hall of Flame was in the middle of the hardest hit area and suffered significant water and flooding damage to the building, galleries, gift shop and other areas of the museum.

In addition to the expense of cleaning up the museum not once, but twice, the museum has damage to drywall, displays, carpets, ceilings and other areas of the museum.

In order to prevent this from happening again, the museum needs to invest over $100,000 in structural repairs to the museum--regrading the low areas outside the building, trenching to install drainage, building walls to hold back the water, and significant excavation to properly waterproof the facility and ensure that the museum's priceless and irreplaceable collection is never at risk in the future, and to allow the museum to continue its mission of educating thousands of children each year on the importance of fire safety.

The museum operates on a very limited budget and relies on the charitable support of donors, museum visitors and the community in order to fund its mission. The museum's budget simply does not allow for this large expenditure without several years of fundraising and this situation is urgent to prevent further damage in future storms.
