Hi, I’m Nesta, and I’m reaching out to you to support the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. I chose this organization after hiking the Granite Mountain Hotshots memorial trail near Yarnell, Arizona. I was touched by the story of these heroes and wanted to pay my respects for their sacrifice. Leaving a memento would be contradictory to my views of land stewardship, so I have chosen to instead honor their sacrifice by raising money for their families. 

My goal is to raise one dollar for each mile I ride on a self supported bicycle tour from desert to ocean and back, going from Kingman, Arizona to Stuart, Florida, then returning to Kingman. This fundraising campaign does not benefit me, but goes directly to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Not a penny raised here will reach my pocket, I’m not doing this for myself. This is to help those families who already have enough heartbreak and hardships to live with, that I may, in some small way, ease some of the stress and suffering they are facing while dealing with the loss of a heroic member of their families. 

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation honors the brave firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our communities. Since 1992, they have provided essential support to the families of fallen heroes and work tirelessly to prevent further tragedies in the firefighting community.
