Our family is facing the most difficult chapter of our lives. My wife, a devoted mother of two and the rock of our household, has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer that has spread to her lungs, brain, bones, and eyes.
She stood by my side as I served in the U.S. Army for over 20 years, supporting me through deployments and taking care of our children while I was away serving our country. She has always been the foundation of our family—selflessly putting everyone’s needs before her own, raising our children with love and strength.
Now, at a time when she deserves peace and comfort, she is fighting for her life. Her illness has brought countless appointments, treatments, and hospital visits, which have made daily life incredibly challenging. She has become unable to work, and our family is struggling to balance the emotional toll with the financial burden of medical expenses, time away from work, and the cost of travel and care.
Our two children, ages 21 and 18, are both in college, pursuing their dreams, but this journey has been overwhelming for them as well. Despite her illness, my wife continues to be their guiding light, reminding them of the importance of perseverance, faith, and love.
In addition to medical expenses, our family is now facing the challenge of making our home safe and accessible for my wife. Due to the cancer, she has lost vision in one eye and can no longer walk without assistance. To help her remain comfortable and independent at home, we will need to make important disability modifications—such as ramps, handrails, a safer bathroom setup, and better mobility access throughout the house. These changes will not only ease her daily challenges but also allow us to care for her with dignity and safety in the place she loves most—our home.
We are humbly asking for support during this difficult time. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward helping with medical costs, transportation to appointments, and home modifications to make daily life safer and more comfortable.
My wife has always been the heart of our home—our strength, our comfort, and our inspiration. We want to ensure she feels the same love and support that she has given so freely to others throughout her life.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers. Your support means more than words can express.
With gratitude,
Nathan Luchs & Family
